CHECKLIST
This packing list is just a recommended guideline for your reference. Everything is optional for you to choose from. It’s best to leave all unnecessary valuables and jewelry at home.

BASIC MUST-HAVES FOR YOUR TRAVEL KIT-

  • 2 copies of E-tickets, travel itinerary and a travel map for personal assistance.
  • Carry a pen and a small diary to jot down an address or a contact number or a brilliant idea that the journey might give you.
  • Bag locks (2 or more).
  • 1 Torchlight/Head Light for camping or offbeat locations
  • Hand Sanitizer + Hand Towel + Handkerchiefs.
  • Multi plug – very useful in such remote areas with limited power points.
  • Plastic zip lock bags/ plastic bags for used clothes.
  • It is likely to rain in Bhutan throughout the year so windcheater/ raincoat might prove very useful on certain dates.
  • Photo copy of identity proof (Driving License, PAN Card, Election Card). Foreigners are requested to bring Original Passport with a valid India Visa on it.
  • Sun goggles, Sun Cap, Lip Balm
  • It would be helpful if you carry Guide Map of Bhutan.
  • Charger (for mobile, camera and other gadgets, if any)
  • It is advised to label your luggage so that it can be easily identified at all places.
  • A small handbag to carry snacks, camera, water bottle, ongoing medicine and other requirements during traveling.

Your clothing should be lightweight, breathable, hand-washable, and quick-drying, preferrably moisture-wicking

  • Jackets. Heavy Jacket for the winter season (Oct – Mar) will also be fine, Woolen Cap.
  • T-shirts / Shirts / Sweat Shirts, Cotton Muffler & 2 Light Woolens (Half Sleeve Pullovers)
  • Undergarments (As per your convenience)
  • Towel


FOOTWEAR

  • A pair of slippers at the end of the day would make it very relaxing.
  • Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes, closed toe, preferably waterproof
  • Tennis shoes, sandals, dressy shoes, and/or flip flops
  • Comfortable, breathable socks


NOTES

  • The people are kind, gracious and welcoming. Hoteliers, shop owners and restaurant staff have an economic interest in being pleasant to tourists but that doesn’t appear to be the motivation. They’re just genuinely nice.
  • MasterCard, Visa Credit and Debit Cards are accepted in Bhutan. However travelers’ cheques and some cash are highly recommended.
  • You will be provided with the valid permits, please retain them carefully since those will be required while you return back to India, hence, do not loose the permits
  • Carry only Rs. 50/- ,Rs. 100/- and Rs.500 notes as Rs. 2000/- notes are illegal in Bhutan.It is always advisable to carry enough cash since only International Credit cards are acceptable at the hotels. Therefore, kindly do not depend upon the ATM cards.
  • Bhutan is 30 minutes ahead of India
  • There are many native languages spoken in Bhutan but the most common ones are Dzongkha(national language), Nepali, sharshopaa, Hindi( quit less in number though)
  • The best way to interact with the people of Ladakh is to greet them by saying “Kuzoozangpo La”. It means Hello.
  • It’s very easy to get 3G pre-activated local SIM cards in Bhutan, you just need to permit for the same and you can get them from the airport on arrival or from local markets.
  • Always put your shoes off before entering a monastery & take permission from the monks before taking photos inside the monasteries.
  • Leaving on time is the main aspect of this trips, you are requested to be ready on said time so that the whole group can leave in time & reach on time.
  • Please do not carry more than 02 Luggage. One small Hand Bag for essentials & another main luggage suitcase or bag where all your luggage will be kept.
  • Items marked in yellow to be kept in hand bags.

  • A pair of scissors

  • Nasivion for blocked nose
  • Ongoing regular medicines (if any)
